What on Earth (have you done)? |
What on Earth? explores the subtle yet intense relationships between visual text, aural sound, and literal meaning. It encourages the viewer to see and "hear" the words differently in each line, thereby changing the significance. There is also an environmental interrogation here, which could be interpreted inwardly and/or outwardly. This piece was adapted for the Eco-Urgency exhibition at Wave Hill & Lehman College Art Gallery and featured in this Norton & Co. book:

The piece was also included in the Creative Climate Awards and projected on the Manhattan Bridge: |
The original iteration of this piece (2010) was strictly concerned with the visual influence of typography over meaning : What on Earth (do you Mean)? vinyl on plexiglass, 24"x36", Nicky Enright, 2010: |
