Nicky Enright, The Glocal Card, 2012 - A phone card & collaborative intervention
A free phone card that offered worldwide calls for a limited time in exchange for filling out an anonymous online survey about the call. The functional installation was presented at BRAC but the skype-enabled card could be used anywhere that had an internet connection. The survey generated a record of these international connections and the charts illustrate them. The title conflates "global" & "local" both to interrogate the connotations of the words and to evoke a vision of local immigrants reaching out across the globe.
